Malcolm Ludvigsen
Born in Sunderland during the post-war baby-boom, Malcolm Ludvigsen studied Mathematics at Surrey and Newcastle Universities, and then taught at the University of Botswana.
During a sabbatical from his professorship in Sweden, Malcolm decided to concentrate on his painting, and since 2000, aside from some teaching at York University, he has been painting full time.
Painting in oils, Malcolm has a particular
interest in figure and plein-air painting, painting in the open
air wherever possible to achieve the vibrancy and vitality his
work is recognised for.
