Moira Metcalfe is a well established artist living and working in the bustling market town of Hawes in the Yorkshire Dales. Born in 1953, she used to visit the Dales as a child and was inspired by the dramatic landscape around her. Her work explores landscapes of constantly changing moods and climates with an enormity of light and movement, producing unique and personal responses to the influences of her surroundings. Simon Shorrock lives
and works from his home studio in Adelaide, Australia.
When Simon was living in the UK he exhibited his early work
alongside Angela Wakefield in a number of exhibitions in the
North of England. Currently he is now working on a series of
paintings based on the
Australian bushranger Ned
Kelly, as well as other
work with a strong social/philosphical narrative. His imaginative
colourful original paintings have an unrivalled
intensity and his highly developed techniques with oil paint
are truly exquisite. |
