Sally uses painting as a process to explore elements of rural landscape.

"Recently, silver birch trees have provided a fascinating subject for their structural qualities- so much chaotic texture encased neatly within an elegant trunk! An important part of my work is the exploration of painting processes and techniques. These are used to portray the contrasting qualities of light, texture and colour so evident in the subject of trees and woodland."
