ANNE SONGHURST

Still Life Painter

Born in Ashford, Kent in 1946, Anne developed her passion for painting as a child. She is one of the few self taught artists, whose eye for detail, inspiring use of colour and texture, and years of dedication have formed her into an artist that has mastered her medium. Much of her work is timeless, and each piece represents a stillness that Anne says comes from ‘long periods of close observation’. Her dedication enables these dynamic yet graceful compositions of light, colour and texture to exist, which exude life and vibrancy, creating a direct contrast to the inevitability of decay.
