Christine Leadbetter

Contemporary Seascapes

Born in Morecambe in 1957, Christine was one of the final students to study a foundation course in art at the Storey Institute in Lancaster. This led to her BA (Hons) Fine Art from Liverpool Polytechnic in 1979. In 1989-1990, The Williamson Art Gallery and Museum in Birkenhead hosted her solo retrospective exhibition of over 100 works. In 2003, Christine returned to Lancaster where the familiar Morecambe Bay and the Lune Valley area inspire her to produce intimate yet powerful and passionate works.
